Description

Braga is often described as one of the most religious Portuguese cities, as it is full of churches, small cathedrals and sanctuaries. However, this just means that it is full of centuries of culture and traditions!

Did you know that Portugal is the country with the oldest barely unchanged borders in the world?! Since officially becoming a Kingdom in 1139, only small changes to our country lines have happened, such as losing or winning single border-towns to our Spanish neighbours and rivals for many centuries!

We will visit Guimarães, this physically very small town, but the first Capital of Portugal, and where the Reconquista started from, with our first King D. Afonso Henriques uniting Portuguese knights to start reconquering lands from the moors in the Iberian península!

What is included?

  • Braga City Center
  • Stairway and Church of Bom Jesus do Monte
  • Visit of the Paço dos Duques and Castle of Guimarães
  • Transportation by private bus
  • Travel insurance
